ABOUT DEPARTMENT :
Transport Department enforces Provisions of Motor Vehicles Act 1988 and Telangana Motor Vehicles Taxation Act 1963 and provisions made there under. Under the Provisions of Motor Vehicles Act 1988 issues Driving Licences, Registers Vehicles, issues Fitness Certificates and Permits to the vehicles etc.. under Provisions of Telangana Motor Vehicles Taxation Act 1963, Collects Taxes from the vehicles owners.
Reorganization of Districts :
After the Reorganization of Districts, DTO office at Attapur, one RTO office at Ibrahimpatnam( Manneguda), One Motor Vehicles Inspector office at Shadnagar and Driving Testing Track at Kondapur, Manneguda and Shadnagar are functioning in Ranga Reddy District. During the financial year 2019-20 an amount of Rs.701.67 Crs, collected by way of Motor Vehicles Taxes and Registrations, Permits and Driving License Fee etc by the Transport Department in RR Dist.
During the financial year 2020-21 (upto 30/06/2020) an amount of Rs.58.80Crs of Revenue collected.

Programs on Road Safety are being taken up regularly throughout Ranga Reddy District.Applicants can book slot for any transaction from home by filing application online on the Transport Department Web site :https://www.transport.telangana.gov.in/
Transport Department has also launched an app by name RTA M-Wallet. By using this app one can download soft copy of ones Driving License, Registration Certificate, Fitness Certificate details etc and can pay quarterly road tax online itself. As per Government Orders the soft copies of Registration certificate and Driving Licenses, downloaded from RTA M Wallet can be shown to enforcement authorities. Till 30/06/2020, RTA, Ranga Reddy suspended (814) Driving Licenses for violation of Rules and Drunk and driving. 31st National Road Safety Week was celebrated in the District from 27/01/2020 to 02/02/2020. Transport Department is taking every precaution to contain the spread of COVID19, by creating awareness through display of flexis and 3 level sanitization in all the above office.
