Aims and Objectives of the Organization:
India lives in its Villages.Government therefore accords high priority for Rural Development.DRDA is the bed rock for implementation and Supervision of Various development and anti poverty Programmes sponsored by Central Government as well as State Government.
Mission/Vision:
The disadvantaged communities shall be empowered to overcome all social, economic, cultural and psychological barriers through self-managed organizations. They will attain higher productivity with improved skills and asset base and utilize resources to full potential and gainful access to services. Our missions is to enable the disadvantaged communities perceive possibilities for change and bring about desired change by exercising informed choices through collective action
Brief History and Background of its Establishment:
DRDA,Ranga Reddy was set up under the provisions of Societies Registration Act 1860. Rural Poverty alleviation is the mandate of the DRDA. Both District level officials and public representatives like M.Ps, MLAs, Panchayat Samithi Chairpersons, etc are the members of the society. President,Zilla Parishad is the Ex. Officio Chairman of DRDA. All administrative and financial powers are vested on the Collector. The Project Director of the Agency looks after day to day administration. DRDA receives funds under various programmes directly from Ministry of Rural Development, Govg. of India and State Govt and in turn releases the same to various banks/executing agencies. It monitors the implementation of schemes are implemented through DRDA. Ministry of Rural Development,Govt. of India constituted a Vigilance and Monitoring Committee under the Chairmanship of Senior M.P of the District to effectively monitor implementation of various schemes and esure proper utilization of funds
